Originally a parody of my distorted memory of a Popeye TV cartoon parody of the Ali Baba & the 40 Thieves story, this evolved into a limerick. ( Upon the capture of Saddam Hussein 12-14-03 & updated upon the report of CIA weapons inspector Charles Duelfer 10-14-04 )
1: Saddami, Saddami, baloney!
We've caught you and most of your cronies.
And now you're in jail, don't think you'll make bail
'cause we've got to hear testimony.
2: Saddami, Saddami, you loser.
You've screwed up Iraq and abused her.
Let's see how you cope using soap-on-a-rope
and answer to all your accusers.
3: Saddami, I hear Johnny Cochran
is willing to help you for nothin'.
He'll take on your case, claim it's all about race,
and you'll probably even get off then.
4: Saddami, you're seeming much calmer
without all your guns and your bombers.
Our biggest regret, 'cause he's not around yet,
that your cellmate won't be Jeffrey Dahmer.

Charles' Duelfer says you're not a phony.
You really were sure C.I.A. knew the score:
it's Iran made you feel acrimony.

Great job. Saddam's greatest role was in "Hot Shots: Part Deux". Don't think Jeffrey Dahlmer could have stomached him.
