Yea, I sort-of understand. I understand from the inthe00s board, a few serial plaigarists have indeed been banned via their IP addresses.
In my opinion, if you borrow an idea or something another writer's song, the least thing you can do is to give kudos and credit to your inspirer. But outright plagiarism IMO is a sign of a lamer. 555, and those fives are original.

5s for the parody and the fact that you did a New Order song. I'm still recovering from being told by an editor on a trivia site that I had to amend a quiz I did because it was "unreasonable" to expect people to know that "New Order" was a band name...! It's a trivia site for ****'s sake!

This one's really good!! I also absolutely hate it when people rip off other people's work, whether it be parodies, essays, articles, or any kind of written material. Your parody is well paced, and I'm giving it another perfect score. :)

5's Plagiarism is the worst thing a person can do on a lyric site of this nature--I mean it's not like we are making money or anything--I will never even understand why people steal other people's work, so nice job slamming it.

(Amiright Idol) Hope you don't find me harsh here, Jason. There was pacing problems here and there. My best, biggest open advice to all parody writers is to count syllables of each line between a printed lyric sheet and your written work before submitting. I'm not saying you did or didn't, Jason, just mentioning it here
Also keep in mind that Amiright-centered parodies are indeed fun, but won't mean much to those outside of our little wacky community. Remember, though, I did enjoy this parody (see above). Good luck, Jason!

(AmIright Idol) Though I'm not as big on syllable counting, it is a good starter. My main criticism on this one Jason is some of the major grammatical problems in the beginning. Re-iterating Agri's comment, outside of AmIRight if I were to record this song for you--it probably wouldn't have broad appeal because of the topic. I love the OS choice though, and it is imperative that the OS be popular enough to have an audience, which this song did.
(Idol) "Blue Monday" has little rhyming and a flexible meter; I didn't have any problems trying to sing this. The typo on "plagiarist:" could have been easily caught with spell check - the switching of verb tenses is something you ought to work on. "When you steal somebody's writing/And told us, it is yours" and the two lines that follow it have easily fixed syntax errors - easy enough that they should be fixed before submission, really. Although I know the story behind this parody, I can't say I found much humor in the write itself. I'd enjoy hearing a recording of it, but you have to ask yourself "how many people would get this if it were recorded?". You did good though by keeping this from being a site-specific parody.
Great job Jason! I found this parody not on AmIRight itself, but on Google while attempting to find out about plagiarism on this site, since I have seen at least two plagiarized OSs (albeit with a couple of words changed) in the past couple of months. One question: Was this parody about K.Y.L.E.? 5s.
