see my doggie, sittin' by the window
needs relievin' from his frightful plight
a little bite...he's cryin', but they won't go
howlin' so, when they sting his hide

stubborn fleas...make my dog whine
crowin', while he's scratchin' his behind

see my doggie layin' on the sidewalk
a little visit from the dog next door
so, he walks on up to the poor pup
and his fleas...they, of course, explore

they hatch and then bloom
doggie gets washed up
and later, gets groomed

now, i come home
and my dog's ears perk
he's been bathed with care
no more fleas in his world

see him smile, while sittin' in the kitchen
i been cookin' up some doggie stew
feel his long tongue reach up to lick me
he's relieved because his pain is through

stubborn fleas...don't cross his mind
knowin' they don't latch on his behind
