wish i...could get by...playing lotto
its one thing that i'd like to do
win the stakes every day
on those little sheets marking away
win at powerball too

but, sly...i must try...to be clever
i'm sure that suspicions would brew
i'd stash them away
like a treasure and then
again...i would cash in a few

but they never seem to pick all of mine
if twenty-three..mine's twenty-two
so i change them
i write it down and off it go
now twenty-two is bound to show
its mindless

if i...had a lock...on that ticket
one week, in the future, to view
i'd make up an entry
that'd i'd done from memory
three, four...six, eight, ten...thirty two

but it always seems to come up a five
or seventeen...or forty-two
and i toss them
i've horsed around and lost some dough
but still its fun...you never know
you might win
