They're only in a bun, for now
Wieners and sauerkraut
They come to life and they run away
They're now on the run

Before the dinner bell, is rung
Onions make their escape
And pickles scamper down off the plate
And yes, they're on the run

I don't know how these foodstuffs came to life
Self-preservation on their minds
I really should discuss this with my wife
A better food store we should find, together

And when the picnic's done, we know
Something bizarre's occurred
It isn't normal for food to run
And no, it isn't fun

Now we are left with nothing for our lunch
Everything edible has fled
It's really bothering us both a bunch
Worried we may have lost our heads, together, together

And when we get back home, we scream
All of the shelves are bare
Our weekly groceries are now at large
And yes, they're on the run
